We are fast approaching that time of year when everything is supposedly more magical, although the stresses of holiday preparations can sometimes make it seem like anything but. Nonetheless, it should be a point when we allow ourselves to give up any cynicism and focus on our hopes and intentions instead. Maybe we will get absolutely everything that we want for Christmas, and at least for a little while, all of our troubles will feel a teensy bit further away. We also have the invaluable resource of memes to help us down that route. Their silly and often meaningless entertainment is here to provoke laughter, arguably one of the best ways to fill us with a sense of hope whether things go wrong or right. They might not exactly encourage us to aim higher, but they do give us the opportunity to unwind and relax. That is still a valuable asset.
